You are able to link offline wallets to Shrimpy Pro in order to automatically track balances and performance for portions of your portfolio that are held off exchange. Each wallet is given its own Dashboard and can be selected via the Account Selector in the top right corner of your Dashboard once you have successfully linked a wallet to Shrimpy Pro.
To Link an Offline Wallet
First you will need the Public Address of your offline wallet. If you're adding ERC-20 tokens (tokens issued/created on the Eth blockchain), you'll instead need to use the receive address for the token you're adding. It is expected that you will use the same receive address for multiple assets when adding ERC-20 tokens.
Once you have your public address (or receive address), you'll need to navigate to the "Accounts" tab in the settings menu.
Here, you can see the number of wallets you are able to link to Shrimpy Pro. This number is based on your subscription tier, this screenshot is from an account using a Professional tier subscription, so it is limited to linking 10 separate offline wallets. Please note, the limit imposed by your subscription tier is applied to both Exchange accounts (API connections) and Wallets individually, meaning you are able to link 10 of both (for a total of 20 connections) when using a Professional subscription.
At this point, you'll want to click on "Connect a new wallet" and select which wallet you intend to link to your Shrimpy Pro account. In this example, we will be linking a Coinomi wallet.
Here, you'll select which asset you are adding to your offline wallet. Each asset held in your wallet must be added individually, even when using the same receive address or public key.
Once you've entered your public key or receive address, click save to complete the process of linking your offline wallet to Shrimpy Pro. You'll see a success message as shown below.
Please note that at this point it can take up to 15 minutes for Shrimpy Pro to begin receiving balance data from your wallet. Once you have begun receiving balance data, you'll see a Dashboard similar to those shown for your exchange accounts but with reduced functionality. Currently, sections such as Automation, Trading, and History do not have any data to display when viewing your offline wallet Dashboard.
What if I can’t find my wallet?
There are currently hundreds of wallets that cryptocurrency users can leverage to manage their assets. Each wallet is different in their own unique way. Although our goal is to provide connectivity to every possible wallet, each integration takes effort. As a result, we have started by adding support for the most popular wallets. Over time, we hope to support all the wallets you might want to connect to Shrimpy Pro.
In order to circumvent the necessity to support every wallet, we have also provided an option for a "Generic Wallet". The intention of this wallet is to be a catch-all for any wallet that is not supported by Shrimpy Pro.
You can select this wallet and individually add the assets you would like to monitor. Shrimpy Pro will then connect directly with each of the asset blockchains to monitor those assets. The Shrimpy Pro team will be continuously working to add support for new blockchains.
That's nice, but I still don't see my wallet!
Currently, the "Connect a new wallet" list looks like the screenshot above. Some popular wallets have been added individually and we do expect this list to be expanded over time, however the first option is "Generic Wallet". By using this option, you are able to link any wallet that is not present in the list of wallets provided it uses a blockchain that Shrimpy Pro also supports.
Cool, but I want to add a wallet that uses a blockchain that you don't support!
That's certainly understandable. We had to start somewhere, and we aim to make our list of supported blockchains robust and diverse but it will take time. If you would like to request support for a specific blockchain, please don't hesitate to reach out to us using the blue Support button found in the bottom left corner of your Dashboard, or send an email to Support@Shrimpy.io.
