IP Whitelisting is a security feature that helps to protect your cryptocurrency exchange account from unauthorized access. When IP Whitelisting is enabled, your exchange account only accepts requests from specific IP addresses that you have authorized. This way, any unauthorized access from other IPs is blocked.
At Shrimpy Pro, we support IP Whitelisting to secure your exchange account while still allowing us to perform trades, collect data, and rebalance your portfolio.
Note: Shrimpy Pro provides 2 sets of IP addresses, one set for Binance exchange accounts and another set for all other exchange accounts. You must utilize the Binance-specific IP addresses for your Binance exchange account in order to prevent interruptions in API connectivity.
Whitelisting Your API Keys
Log in to your Shrimpy Pro account and navigate to the settings page.
Under "Security&API" you will find your IP Whitelist. Select "Get IP Addresses" to display the list of 4 IP addresses.
These are the IPs that will be copied so they can be entered into the exchange where you will whitelist Shrimpy Pro for access to your API keys. Clicking the IP address will copy it so you can paste it into the exchange account.
Now, log in to Kraken and navigate to the API tab.
Find the API keys for your Shrimpy Pro account and select "Edit."
Select the toggle for "IP Whitelisting" to enable whitelisting.
Copy the IP Addresses from Shrimpy Pro and paste them into the field, selecting Add an IP Address for each one.
After adding all 4 IP addresses select Save. Your API keys are now whitelisted.
