IP Whitelisting is a security feature that helps to protect your cryptocurrency exchange account from unauthorized access. When IP Whitelisting is enabled, your exchange account only accepts requests from specific IP addresses that you have authorized. This way, any unauthorized access from other IPs is blocked.
At Shrimpy Pro, we support IP Whitelisting to secure your exchange account while still allowing us to perform trades, collect data, and rebalance your portfolio.
Note: Shrimpy Pro provides 2 sets of IP addresses, one set for Binance exchange accounts and another set for all other exchange accounts, including Binance.US. You must utilize the Binance-specific IP addresses for your Binance exchange account in order to prevent interruptions in API connectivity.
Whitelisting Your API Keys
Log in to your Shrimpy Pro account and navigate to the settings page.
Under "Security&API" you will find your IP Whitelist. Select "Get IP Addresses" to display the list of 4 IP addresses. Do not use the Binance IP Whitelist as this is only for Binance accounts.
These are the IPs that will be copied so they can be entered into the exchange where you will whitelist Shrimpy Pro for access to your API keys. Clicking the IP address will copy it so you can paste it into the exchange account.
Now, log in to Binance.US and navigate to the API management tab.
Find the API Keys linked to your Shrimpy Pro account and select Edit Restrictions.
Under "IP Access Restrictions" select "Restrict Access to Trusted IPs Only." Then, paste the IPs from the IP Whitelist in Shrimpy Pro into the field.
After pasting an IP address into the exchange, hit Enter to confirm.
Repeat the process for all 4 IP addresses. Once you have added all 4 IP addresses, select "Save" to save the changes to your API Keys.
Complete any additional security steps required by the exchange to save changes to your API Keys, and your API keys are now whitelisted.
