This help article is meant to serve as a synopsis of our balance data snapshot download feature.
What is a balance data snapshot?
A balance data snapshot is a representation of the balances held in your linked exchange account. By combining our balance data snapshot feature with our show historical dashboard feature, you can create a downloadable CSV document that can be used to create a comprehensive overview of your balances at any previous point in time.
It is worth mentioning that the CSV file provided by Shrimpy Pro is not sufficient for tax related purposes. There are multiple reasons for this, primarily that we only support Spot trading and we do not receive data on other types of wallets or accounts such as futures, margin, staking, and funding accounts. Additionally, we are also not able to provide data for an asset before it is listed within Shrimpy, which may not coincide with when you made an entry into an asset. For these reasons, we recommend only utilizing this feature for personal research and analytical purposes.
How to download a CSV file
As shown in the screenshot above, there is a link underneath your graph that can be used to generate a CSV file containing the balance information currently displayed on your Dashboard. This means that you can get both portfolio specific and aggregate balance data for your Shrimpy Pro account by selecting either one of your portfolios, or the Show All option, before generating your CSV. Clicking on the aforementioned link will immediately generate and initiate a CSV download.
If your Dashboard is displaying a custom date range, the balances displayed and utilized when generating the CSV are those held at the end of the selected date range.
What information is provided?
The following information can be found included in the provided CSV download:
- Asset Name
- Asset Symbol
- Asset Price (USD)
- Asset 24hr performance
- Asset amount
- Asset allocation
- Position value (USD)
- Position difference from target allocation (USD)
Below is an example of a sample balance data snapshot using Excel to open the CSV file.
