Don't have time to read an article? We've got you covered! Check out our tutorial videos below.
You are able to set up an index based on specific tags that apply to the various assets listed on an exchange. This will allow you to create an index that includes some assets while excluding others based on certain properties of the asset such as what assets are used for, whether or not assets are mineable, or several other criteria.
When you want to create a new Automation...
You will be prompted to select which type of automation you would like to create after clicking on the "+" in the screenshot below. This is found on the Automation page.
By selecting "Pick Assets" on the left, you are able to create an automation where you select your own assets and weighting, and what you set does not change unless you change it manually.
If you are interested in creating an index, where your asset selection and weighting are determined by the market, you would want to select "Create Index" on the right. Doing so will bring up the following page.
As you can see, on the left side of the page you are able to determine the Weighting Method of your portfolio along with the Asset Range, Min and Max allocation settings, and you can also set your Rebalance Interval or Threshold (but not both!)
When you click on "Show more index settings", you will be able to modify your Buffer Zone, as well as include assets both manually and by type, or exclude assets manually. Help articles for each of these settings can be found below.

Each asset that can be included in an index will be given a tag, and those tags will determine the asset type. By creating your index using asset types, you ensure that assets that don't include the selected tags do not find their way into your index as the market cap rankings change over time.
When you click on "+Add Type" you will be shown a window where you can select the various tags that are available, at launch there are 96 options available to you and you are able to include multiple types within the same index. A search bar has been included for convenience.
Once selected, a tag can be removed by clicking on the "x" button displayed to the right of the tag as shown in the screenshot below.
When using multiple tags, it may be necessary to increase the asset range if you would like to trade each asset included within each tag you've selected. Assets are prioritized by market cap rank when asset range requires excluding assets.
