Due to a Binance security breach, please create new API keys for your Binance exchange account and link them to Shrimpy. This article will walk you through the process for creating new API keys and linking them to your Shrimpy account.
You can find more information on the Binance breach here:
Login to Binance. Click on the Account button under the person icon on the top right.
Click on the Enable button in the API section of your Account Dashboard.
Enter your 2FA code if you’re prompted. You will receive an email with a link you need to click to verify the activity. This link may expire after 15 minutes.
Copy these API keys and make sure you have enabled both the "Read Info" and "Enable Trading" check boxes. "Enable Withdrawals" should remain unchecked.
In the Shrimpy application, click on the exchange account that you would like to update. In this instance, we will click on our "BINANCE" account that is listed on the "Exchange" tab in "Settings".
After clicking on the exchange account, we see a popup where we can either "Update Keys" or "Delete Keys".
DO NOT DELETE KEYS. Deleting keys will remove all your history and will not update your keys.
We want to use the "Update Keys" feature. Input your API Public Key and API Secret Key into the two input boxes. Once you have entered these values, select "UPDATE KEYS". This will replace your old keys and keep all of your historical data. You can then exit out of this dialog and continue using Shrimpy as normal.
